English Translation for International Guests

Hello everybody!
This post is especially dedicated for our international guests and relatives.
We will be very pleased to welcome you in Spain and this is to help you out with the arrangements.
I am expecting to see some of you coming from the USA and some others coming from UAE, or surrounding countries like Egypt or Lebanon.
Since we've been living in Dubai for almost one year and a half, we've met some nice people over here and I'd love to share these special days with this new old friends.

This is an open forum, so please write your comments and questions, and we'll do our best to answer in a timely manner.

WHERE and WHEN?
First of all, dates and places:
Our big fat Spanish wedding will take place in a small village near Seville, in the south of Spain.
Sevilla is the capital of Andalucía, and one of the major cities in South Spain.
MAP MAP MAP MAP
The religious ceremony will be in a small chapel on October 11th (Sunday) starting at 5:30pm.
After the religious service, there will be a cocktail, followed by a dinner and then a dance and party (with free drinks). Sounds good?

How to get there (Seville/Sevilla)
  • If you go by car from Madrid, (rental cars are easily available) it will take about 4h 30min.
Driving in Spain is safe, and cars are in good condition. Gasoline is expensive (about 1€/liter)
  • It takes about 2h 30 mins to take the AVE (fast train) from Madrid to Sevilla.
Trains are very comfortable and modern. You can buy tickets online at RENFE.

  • You can also fly there, but there aren't many international flights landing in Sevilla. If you are flying with the major airlines, you usually have to stop in Madrid.
  • There are some Low-Cost airlines that are flying to and from Sevilla to the major hubs in Europe.
Low Cost airlines flying to Sevilla:
I think this LowCost option, could be a good opportunity to save some money.
I know it's not a cheap trip! So I think it makes sense to extend your vacation and visit some other places in Spain.
Granada and Córdoba are very close, and it's a must see.

Almost all the guests (nationals and internationals) will be spending the night after the wedding in Sevilla or surrounding area.
We have posted some links to help you find a good hotel.
We have contacted several hotels to get cheaper rates, but we have found that then never beat the prices that you can get online.
So go ahead and visit the websites listed below!

We will be providing a Bus service from downtown Sevilla to the wedding location.
So you don't need to drive and you can find a cheaper & better place to stay in Sevilla.
This bus will pick up all guests from a place to be determined in Sevilla and will take them to the wedding.
Also there will be several trips for the guests to return back to their hotels at different times after dinner.

VISA

I'll be contacting the Spanish Embassy in Abu Dhabi very soon to find out more details about how to get Visas for Lebanese, Egyptian, Nigerians.. and all nationalities that have special needs when it comes to enter the EU.
No need for special arrangements for family and friends coming from the USA.

WEATHER
The average max temperature for this month in Sevilla is: 78ºFarenheit = 26ºCelsius
The average Lowest temperature for this month is 56ºF = 13ºC
The dinner will be indoors, so don't worry about the weather.

I think this is enough for today!
Please, feel free to ask!

Regards!
